In this experimental study, the performance of the pure water and MgO were compared in the opposite direction parallel flow heat exchanger. At the same expertimental conditions the performance of two fluids were compared at 5 different flow rate for each 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 °C in the experiments.
According to data obatained from the experiments while the mean efficiency coefficient pure water was 0,8069, MgO was 0.8864.İt means that % 9 improvement.
This study is important because of showing an increase on the thermal efficiency of heat exchangers when used MgO as hot fluid instead of pure water. As a consequnce the performance of MgO is better then pure water in the plate type heat exchanger.
