INVESTİGATİON OF THE DYNAMİC BEHAVİOUR OF A MUNİTİON FİRED FROM A SUBMARİNE WİTHİN A CAPSULE

In this study, the planar dynamic model of a guided munition fired from a submarine within a hydrodynamic envelope called capsule toward a predetermined target is derived in the vertical plane and the relevant computer simulations are carried out by considering consistent numerical values for the parameters used. In the modeling, the thrust, friction, and inertial forces are taken into account as the external forces encountered inside and outside the firing slot of the submarine in addition to the hydrodynamic effects. As a result of the computer simulations conducted for different values of the tail fin angle, thrust pressure, firing depth, and munition mass, it is observed that the increment in the first two and/or decrement in the last two parameters listed above leads the cruise duration of the munition in the water to shorten but the orientation angle between the munition and the water surface when leaving the water to enhance.
